N. Chandrababu Naidu Unveils Mega Tech Roadmap for Andhra Pradesh

Vision to Transform Andhra Pradesh into a Tech Powerhouse

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has rolled out an ambitious and technology-driven development blueprint aimed at positioning the state as a global innovation hub. The plan focuses on future-ready sectors such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and deep-tech research, signalling a strategic shift toward a knowledge-based economy.

The initiative reflects the government’s long-term vision of integrating education, industry, and research to accelerate economic growth and global competitiveness.

One Million Youth to Receive Advanced Tech Training

A key pillar of the roadmap is large-scale skill development. The state government plans to train one million young people in cutting-edge domains including AI, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, robotics, and data science.

These programmes will be implemented through partnerships with global technology firms, academic institutions, and research organisations. The goal is to create an industry-ready workforce capable of meeting rising global demand for high-end digital skills.

Officials believe this talent pipeline will also help attract multinational investments into Andhra Pradesh.

Dedicated Quantum University in the Pipeline

To anchor this technological push institutionally, the government has proposed setting up a specialised Quantum University. The institution will focus on advanced education, research, and innovation in quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and next-generation technologies.

The university is expected to collaborate with international research bodies and technology leaders, enabling students and scholars to work on real-world applications and breakthrough innovations.

AI Labs and Centres of Excellence

Alongside the university, multiple AI laboratories and Centres of Excellence will be established across the state. These facilities will function as research hubs, startup incubators, and training centres.

They will support innovation in governance, healthcare, agriculture, education, and urban planning — sectors where AI adoption can drive efficiency and public service delivery.

Industry participation is expected to play a major role in infrastructure support and knowledge transfer.

AI Living Labs for Real-World Applications

The blueprint also proposes AI Living Labs where emerging technologies can be tested in real-time environments. These labs will allow developers, startups, and government departments to pilot AI-based solutions before large-scale deployment.

Such practical exposure is aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world implementation.

Global Investment and Partnership Push

Naidu has been actively engaging with global technology companies, investors, and policy leaders to bring investments and collaborations to the state. These discussions span digital infrastructure, semiconductor ecosystems, climate tech, and smart governance solutions.

Memorandums of Understanding and strategic partnerships are expected to follow as the blueprint moves into execution mode.

Building a Future-Ready Economy

The larger objective of the initiative is to transform Andhra Pradesh into a future-ready, innovation-led economy. By aligning skilling, research, and industry ecosystems, the state aims to generate high-value employment, support startups, and strengthen its position in the global tech landscape.

If implemented effectively, the blueprint could mark a defining shift in Andhra Pradesh’s economic trajectory.
